Kerala: Workshop on electronic government payments

Thiruvananthapuram: A one-day workshop on 'Electronic government payments and receipts - policy process and systems' was held here on Friday by the  National Institute for Smart Government, National eGovernance division of the Ministry of Electronics and IT and Kerala State IT Mission. Additional chief secretary Sheela Thomas inaugurated the event.

Panel discussions were held on the initiatives in  electronic payments  by  central government agencies like National Payments Corporation of India and Reserve Bank of India,  banks and other intermediary agencies and the state governments. About 200 officials from various government departments in Kerala,  other states and union territories, including    Tamil Nadu, Assam, Sikkim, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, attended the workshop.
