Telangana has big plans for the second state Formation Day on June 2
Mr Chandrasekhar Rao has made it known that the state should wear a festive look on June 2.
Hyderabad: The TS government has decided to celebrate the second state Formation Day in a big way in Hyderabad and all the districts of the state on June 2.
A mega fireworks display is planned to be held on the banks of Hussainsagar on the occasion. The decision was taken by the Cabinet subcommittee formed by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to oversee the celebrations, when it met here on Tuesday.
The sub-panel is headed by home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy and has ministers Etela Rajender, Ajmera Chandulal, K.T. Rama Rao and Jupally Krishna Rao as members. Mr Chandrasekhar Rao has made it known that the state should wear a festive look on June 2.
While Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and the CM and others will participate in a programme in Hyderabad, other ministers will participate in the respective district headquarters.
The government has decided to honour the kin of Telangana martyrs and those who participated in the 1969 T-agitation. Lifetime achievement awards would be presented to 50 eminent persons at the state-level and 25 at the district-level.
Besides, all government buildings would be illuminated and all private hotels, malls, theatres, hospitals etc. would be decorated, apart from banners at all airports, railway stations and bus depots.
Further, fruits would be distributed to patients in hospitals, blood donation camps organised, special pujas would be held at all religious places, kavi sammelan in Telugu and Urdu and also elocution competition for students would be organised.
