Kannur: The Thalassery Vigilance Court on Friday ordered a quick verification against former minister K.C. Joseph for amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.  The order was passed based on a  complaint filed by Mr K.V. Shaji, hailing from Perinkarai near Ullikal in Kannur.  The court has directed the Kozhikode Vigilance DySP to submit a report before July 16.

Mr Shaji in his petition  alleged that Mr Joseph in his affidavit filed in 2016 had  shown assets  several times higher than his income in the affidavit filed during 2011. He suspected that during his ministerial tenure, he had amassed wealth.
Mr  Joseph dismissed the allegations and said that the case was filed to defame him.
