Ex-ministers get DMK district posts

Chennai: The DMK on Saturday appointed former minister Geetha Jeevan as the district secretary of Tuticorin (north) in place of her N. Periyasami, who was holding the post for three decades.

Another former minister Anita Radhakrishnan, who defected to the DMK from the AIADMK had been nominated as the district secretary for Tuticorin (South) in place of A. Subramani, party general secretary K. Anbazhagan announced. Subramani had been appointed as the state secretary of agricultural labourers wing of the party.

Three constituencies Tuticorin, Vilathikulam and Koilpatti fall within the northern unit, while Tiruchendur, Srivaikuntam and Ottapidaram come under the souther district.
