Kerala bobbitisation case: Girl for CBI probe
The victim and her mother presented themselves before an additional district and sessions judge.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The girl who allegedly bobbitised Swami Gangesananda last month appeared before a court on Saturday and demanded a CBI probe into the case. The victim and her mother presented themselves before an additional district and sessions judge. The girl said that there were several conspiracies happening in the case which was being probed by the state police and demanded a CBI inquiry.
Meanwhile, the prosecution filed two separate petitions due to inconsistencies in her statements. Firstly, it sought brain mapping and polygraph tests as the victim had retracted her statement that she was raped. Secondly, it sought detailed medical examinations because the tests to prove sexual abuse could not be conducted soon after the crime as she was menstruating.
As per the police FIR, the law student chopped of the swami’s genital while thwarting a rape attempt. The same statements were repeated before a magistrate. However, last week she retracted these statements through letters written to the defence lawyer. She claimed that the godman had never sexually abused her and that she bobbitised him on being instigated by her male friends.
