Madavoor orphanage murder case: Parents seek probe
Majeed was at CM Centre high school, and was also studying in the Qutub Ul Alam Dava college.
KOZHIKODE: The parents of the boy, Abdul Majeed, 13, who was stabbed to death by a man at an orphanage in Madavoor, near Kunnamangalam here on Friday, have demanded a thorough probe into the murder to unravel the mystery behind it. The parents, Chirayil Mammootty and Rahyanath, Karakkamala, Mananthavady, Wayanad, submitted a petition to the city police commissioner Kaliraj S. Mahesh Kumar on Monday and sought a probe by an official in the DySP rank or above.
Majeed was a class eight student of CM Centre high school, Madavoor, and was also studying in the Qutub Ul Alam Dava college for religious teaching. The accused Shamsudeen of Kasargod, who stabbed Majeed while he was playing on the ground along with other students, was arrested later. The parents said in their complaint: “How is a stranger allowed to reach the place where the children are staying? We strongly doubt that our son was killed for witnessing someone using the children for unnatural sex. We do not know at what time our child was attacked and what was the reason for his death. The mystery behind the death should be cleared.”
They said that on Thursday (July 13), the boy had called home and requested them to take him back. He said he was injured on his chest in a fall. “On the next day, his class teacher called us saying that he was injured and asked us to reach the medical college hospital. Post- mortem was performed and the body was buried on the same day,” they said.
