ANANTAPUR: Governor Abdul Nazeer told students to confront the obstacles because it will all be worth it in the end, and to be prepared to face the vicissitudes of life with a positive perspective since it is the mindset that matters most. On Monday, the Governor presided over the 21st annual convocation of Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur.

During the convocation, the governor conferred an honorary doctorate from SK University on Dr Mahantesh, president of the Cricket Association for the Blind in India and founder of the Samarthan Foundation, which encourages visually and physically challenged students and youths worldwide.

Dr Mahantesh, who is visually impaired, has dedicated his life to aiding the visually impaired in several countries, notably at the Kodikonda check post in the erstwhile Anantapur district.  In his remarks, the Governor stated, "I firmly believe that education is the most powerful weapon, empowering us, shaping our thoughts, and providing us with the tools to create a brighter future and change the world." The world requires enthusiasm and innovation. Be fearless in your endeavours, daring to dream large, and never waver in your resolve. Accept failure as a necessary step towards achievement, and never be hesitant to take risks."

He argued that students' responsibility should be as leaders and change-makers of the future, as well as a feeling of global citizenship. Every student can make a meaningful contribution to society. The world needs dreamers, thinkers, and doers who can imagine a better future and strive relentlessly to make it a reality. "As you begin your professional journey, embrace challenges with a positive attitude, because it is through challenges that we grow and excel," he stated.

The announcement of the National Education Policy 2020 by the Government of India is expected to usher in a new era in the Indian higher education system, as all universities in the state rush to implement it.  Earlier, the Governor dedicated a boys' hostel on the SK University grounds. He also went to the Vijayanagar Law College in Anantapur.
