Infosys founder Narayana Murthy and his wife Sudha Murty, an author and philanthropist, presented a gold conch and a gold tortoise idol to Lord Balaji at Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. The valuable golden articles presented by the couple would be used for cleansing the idols at the temple.

The couple are known for their philanthropic endeavours. During the pandemic, chairperson of Infosys Foundation Sudha Murty pledged more than Rs 100 crore towards Covid relief initiatives. She even expressed her belief that money holds relatively little importance to her, compared to the value of entrepreneurship.

In an interview, Sudha Murty disclosed that Infosys, presently which has a capitalisation of around $80 billion, started off journey in 1981, with a loan of Rs 10,000 given by to Narayana Murthy.

 

 

She also revealed that the money given to her husband for Infosys was her personal emergency fund, which she kept saving over the years.
