Emulate national spirit of NSG, Governor urges youth
The 7,500-km car rally by the NSG is being held as part of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' marking the 75th year of Independence
HYDERABAD: Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan urged youth to hone discipline and self-sustenance and imbibe a spirit of pride of being an Indian from the Black Cat commandos of the National Security Guard (NSG).
Flagging off the Telangana leg of the 'Sudarshan Bharat Parikrama', the 7,500-km car rally by the NSG, the Governor said, "We are glad to host the Sudarshan Bharat Parikrama as part of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' marking the 75th year of Independence. I appreciate the onus taken upon by NSG to spread the spirit of pride, unity and patriotism among the people."
Organised by the Union ministry of home affairs, the rally aims to spread the message of brotherhood by visiting historic places associated with the freedom struggle, and encourage youth to take active part in nation-building exercises.
It was flagged off on Gandhi Jayanti and it will pass through 18 cities spread over different states.
Inspector General of NSG headquarters, Shalin, said the youth of Hyderabad were "Great hosts. Their zeal and youthful exuberance augur well for the country’s future."
The event was held at Necklace Road and was attended by city police commissioner Anjani Kumar, DIG Group Centre CRPF, Hyderabad, Preet Mohan Singh, and senior officials from the Army and the Indian Air Force.
