School rooms occupied as gram panchayat offices
. The government should give priority to the gram panchayat office first, instead of exerting pressure on setting up of Vaikuntadamam
Khammam: In small gram panchayats, the sarpanches occupied the school buildings and set up gram panchayat offices there. With this, the students did not have sufficient classrooms in the school.
The gram panchayat office was set up in the primary school in Nallabandabodu in Julurpad mandal in Bhadradri district. Such a situation is witnessed in 40 gram panchayats in the two districts. The government should give priority to the gram panchayat office first, instead of exerting pressure on setting up of Vaikuntadamam.
In Raghavapuram in Chintakani mandal, which has 450 voters, the gram panchayat office is operating from a rented house. But, it has two crematoriums in the Vaikuntadhamam. The government spent Rs 6 lakh for it. There will be hardly two deaths in a year in the gram panchayat. The government should build a panchayat office first, instead of Vaikuntadhamm.
The Palle Prakruthi vanam and kreeda pranganam are not so important to the small gram panchayats. Maintenance of palle prakrithi vanam and Vaikuntadhamam is a burden to these gram panchayats. The sarpanches allege that the cheques issued by them are being dishonoured in the treasury office even though there was money in the accounts. Sources said that the government froze all the payments for the bills due to a vulnerable financial position.
