330 crores sanctioned for Rajamahendravaram's development

Kakinada: Urban development minister Adimulam Suresh said development works are being taken up in Rajamahendravaram city at a cost of Rs 330 crore, with priority being given to drinking water projects.

He, along with district collector K. Madhavi Latha, municipal commissioner K. Dinesh Kumar and Rajamahendravaram MP M. Bharat, inaugurated several development works, like modernised parks and Kambala Tank on Tuesday.

Suresh said a sophisticated command control room has been set up at a cost of ₹125 crore. It will be linked with the police department in coming days. He said road widening, improving drainage, central beautification, parks and others are as per the Smart City concept.

The minister said that 37 parks have been modernised with advanced technology. They have also set up a dog park for the first time in the city.

Collector Madhavi Latha Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is paying special attention to Rajamahendravaram city. She requested people of the city to cooperate with the corporation in keeping the city clean.

MP Bharat said that he would make efforts to bring more funds from the union government.

On the day, minister Suresh inaugurated Pushkara Plaza at Sri Venkateswara Anam Kala Kendram built a cost of  Rs 6 crore, street works of Rs 5 crores, laid a stone for construction of Godavari River Front Project at a cost of  Rs 22 crores, a waste management plant at a cost of Rs 10 crore, sewage treatment plant at a cost of  Rs 11.57 crore, swimming pool at a cost of Rs 2 crore at Padmavathi Nagar of Morumpudi and other development works at a cost of Rs 95.50 crore.
