CPI state secretary K. Ramakrishna criticised the state government not providing facts on the circumstances prevailing in the state post demonetisation and publicising that all is set even though the agriculture sector is in crisis.

Alappuzha: A row has erupted over the  three-storeyed  CPI office in Cherthala which was allegedly built violating building rules.  Mr Isaac Madavana, chairman, Cherthala municipality, said that the building was  functioning illegally and that the municipality would take legal step against it.  Though the CPI had given it a letter seeking building number in July,  the council did not approve it, he said.  The CPI began the construction in 2004 after getting permission for   2957 square feet. However, it violated the space limit. It was also alleged that the municipality’s land  was used as  road to the office.

CPI district secretary T.J. Anjalose welcomed any  probe.  The  ombudsman had visited the site when the building was being built and asked the municipality to make the road and provide  parking area since the adjacent area was owned by it.  But the  municipality did not take any step over  it, he said.
