Police custody of Benoy Babu extended for four more days

HYDERABAD: The court extended by four days, the police custody of Pernod Ricard International Brands general manager Benoy Babu for questioning by the Enforcement Directorate officials in connection with the Delhi liquor scam case. His police custody ended on Thursday. ED told the court that he was cooperating with the agency.

ED officials said they had obtained leads in the case and needed to collect more details from the businessman. The agency also informed the court that a huge amount of money was transported by hawala related to the case.

The ED has summoned Hyderabad-based Arun Ramachandran Pillai and his auditor Gorantla Buchi Babu for questioning in connection with the hawala transactions aspect of the case, on Friday. To an earlier summons, Pillai had asked ED for more time citing a marriage in the family.
