Non-Resident Keralites meeting ahead of Loka Kerala Sabha in January next
The meeting will be held at Chaithram Hotel in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.
Thiruvananthapuram: As a prelude to the Loka Kerala Sabha to be held next month, the government is organising a meeting of all organisations working for the welfare of Non-Resident Keralites (NRKs). The Kerala Pravasi Welfare Board has convened the meeting to collect the opinion of officer bearers of organisations of NRKs for the Loka Kerala Sabha to be held in Thiruvananthapuram on January 12 and 13.
The meeting will be held at Chaithram Hotel in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday. The opinion collected from the organisations would be used for discussions and policy-making at the Loka Kerala Sabha. In a first of its type initiative, a 351-member Loka Kerala Sabha is being constituted by the state government. It will include MLAs, MPs and representatives of Keralites in other countries as well as other Indian states. It will have a permanent structure.
The two-day meet will discuss matters pertaining to non-resident Keralites welfare and other topics pertaining to socio-economic progress of the state. The decisions of the meet would be brought to the attention of state and central governments and be pursued for favourable actions.
