NDA cadets hold seminar on Armed Forces career
HYDERABAD: The Sainik Welfare Department conducted a seminar on ‘Preparation for Career in Armed Forces as Officers’ at Sainik Aramghar Complex, Somajiguda, on Sunday.
The seminar was conducted with the help of cadets presently undergoing training at the National Defence Academy (NDA), Pune, and two senior officers who headed the Service Selection Boards (SSB). Around 75 students along with their parents attended the seminar.
The cadets shared their strategies in preparing for UPSC exams, and cracking
the SSB and medical tests. They also shared their own experiences and the
difficulties they overcame before getting selected.
Brigadier Sravan Kumar, who was president of SSB, gave insight into the aspects considered by interviewing officers in SSB. Group Captain Bapiraju
gave a detailed analysis of various selection procedures and finer aspects considered by SSB while selecting the candidates. The parents of NDA cadets
appealed to all parents present to motivate their children to join the Armed Forces.
Col. Ramesh Kumar (Retd), Director, Sainik Welfare, stated that the seminar
was conducted to enhance awareness among children. He said the Telangana
state government gives an incentive of Rs 2 lakh, the highest amount in the
country, to cadets from Telangana state who join the NDA.
