Palnadu developing with Rs 4700 crore funds, says MLAÂ
VIJAYAWADA: YSR Congress MLA, Kasu Mahesh Reddy, has said the YSR Congress government established the Palnadu district and is developing Macherla and Gurazala constituencies with Rs 4700 crore funds.
The aim, he said, is to make Palnadu a ‘faction free’ district. “There was no development in Palnadu during Chandrababu Naidu’s government there. Hence, Naidu hatched plans for his Telugu Desam to create disturbances in Palnadu by carrying out attacks on the Vadderajulu (Vaddera) community,” he said.
Addressing the media here on Sunday, the Gurazala MLA alleged that Telugu Desam was responsible for the disturbances in Macherla. “TD carried out those attacks,” he said and recalled that Naxalism, factionalism and illegal mining flourished in Palnadu under the TD rule and “gangs looted thousands of crores” from various sources.
Reddy said the TD Macherla incharge Julakanti Brahma Reddy was ‘Accused-1’ in the case of murder of seven people. “Even now, there are conflicts in Palnadu because of Brahma Reddy.”
The MLA said that for the last 40 months, chief minister Jagan Reddy was developing Palnadu on par with Pulivendula. “TD leaders are creating anarchy in the region and the people of Palnadu think Kharmara Babu was made this way due to Chandrababu.”
Mahesh Reddy recalled that Palnadu was looted between 1999 and 2004 and again between 2014 and 2019, both during Chandrababu's regime. Chaos and anarchy were created, murders committed and once again TD has restarted committing such inhuman activities, he said.
He explained that Julakanti Brahma Reddy's mother was the MLA that day. “Making use of his power, Brahma Reddy brutally murdered seven of his relatives who were in the Congress party. He is the accused A-1 in that case.”
He said that as TD was repeatedly defeated in the Macherla assembly seat, Brahma Reddy migrated to Guntut and now came back to fan disturbances. “Chalama Reddy was in charge of Telugu Desam and it was Anji Reddy after that. There were no quarrels and clashes, but fights are taking place after Brahma Reddy was appointed as the party in-charge.”
Reddy said attacks are being carried out by TD, especially targeting Vaderajas or the Vaddera community. “In 1983, when NT Rama Rao formed TD, Vaderajulu joined that party and the community continued their support to TD. In the 2019 elections, almost 70 per cent of them voted for YSRC.”
He said that several posts were given to the community by the YSRC. Along with the Macherla municipal chairman post, several other posts like those of the Vadderajula Corporation, the Guntur Market Yard chairman, the Macharla municipal chairman and the Piduguralla Market Yard chairman went to Vadarajulas.
He alleged that, in order to suppress the (BC) Vaddera community, Naidu hatched criminal conspiracies and carried out attacks on the Vadderas.
