BV Papa Rao opposes award to actor
Mr Subba Rami Reddy's efforts to bring back same old Filmy Culture' into the heartland of Kakatiyas is highly deplorable.
WARANGAL: Founder of Kakatiya Heritage Trust B.V. Papa Rao, condemned T. Subba Rami Reddy’s initiative to link Kakatiya Heritage to ‘Telugu Cinema Culture’ in the name of Kakatiya Kala Vaibhava Mahotsavam held on January 17 at Hyderabad.
“Mr Reddy has felicitated film personality Manchu Mohan Babu on the occasion. We wonder how the platform of the Kakatiya Festival is used to confer the title of ‘Viswa Nata Sarvabhouma’ on Mr Mohan Babu,” Mr Papa Rao said in a statement released on Thursday.
“It may be noted that the Telugu Film Industry has a serious effect on all cultural forms of Telangana for the last five decades under the united Andhra Pradesh. Several Telangana Cultural organisations like Kakatiya Heritage Trust are striving hard to revive the Telangana culture in the form of dance, music art etc for the last three years.
Mr Subba Rami Reddy’s efforts to bring back same old ‘Filmy Culture’ into the heartland of Kakatiyas is highly deplorable. What is regrettable is several leaders of Telangana political parties have participated in this effort at Shilpa Kala Vedika on Wednesday,” he lamented.
He further added that Mr Reddy’s declaration to have such events in all districts of Telangana is more dangerous. “We request cultural personalities and organisations of Telangana to resist any such moves of Mr Subbi Rami Reddy in the future,” he stated.
