Thrissur: Three transgenders  were admitted to the general hospital here after they were allegedly beaten up by the east police personnel on Friday night. According to the trio,  they were standing near the KSRTC bus stand after having food at night and the cops who reached the spot caned them. They were admitted to the hospital with minor injuries.

Transgender Radharanjini  said that the police caned them without any  provocation. “The duty doctor did not admit us at first and we sought the support of activist Sheethal Shyaml,” she said. However, the police said that they had seen  two of the transgenders running out of a bus parked near the bus stand and chased them. “No case has been registered as we did not get any complaint yet,”  the police  said.
