Tainted judge produced before court

The corruption charges against Gandhi surfaced when the court received a complaint against him.

During the raids held at his residence the other day, he complained of ill health, following which he was shifted to Gandhi Hospital, Secunderabad.

Hyderabad: Judicial Officer of the Labour Court at Nampally, Mallampati Gandhi, who was booked under a disproportionate assets (DA) case the other day was arrested and produced before the ACB Special Court on Sunday.

During the raids held at his residence the other day, he complained of ill health, following which he was shifted to Gandhi Hospital, Secunderabad. After his health got stabilised on Sunday, he was discharged from the hospital and taken into custody by the ACB sleuths. He was later produced before the court that remanded him to 14 days judicial custody.

During the raids held on Saturday, assets worth Rs 3.57 crore were unearthed from his possession. Meanwhile, ACB officials stated that they will file a petition before the court seeking his custody.

“Further inquiries in police custody would reveal more details about his illegal activities and assets,” they said.

The corruption charges against Gandhi surfaced when the court received a complaint against him. The High Court directed the ACB to verify the allegation.
Following investigation, the ACB submitted a fact-finding report to the court and the allegation against the judicial officer was proved true. The High Court granted permission to the ACB to take action and based on the direction, the raids were conducted.
