THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Nemom has been witnessing frequent clashes between BJP-RSS men and the CPM workers since the beginning of this year.
The RSS has put up posters claiming that its cadres  were being targeted by the  CPM at Kattayikonam while the CPM in a poster war claims that its workers are being attacked by the BJP at Kannur. The police have tightened the security in Nemom following frequent scuffles between two groups.

As per CPM district officials, an activist Baby, 48,  of estate ward was attacked.  The  RSS said its worker  Santhosh of the same area was also bashed up.
Two CPM workers Sabarish and Abhijith were hacked by RSS men earlier and around a dozen activists of both the sides were rounded up.

Incidents like destruction flag posts have led to violence.  In January, two groups of youths had  clashed after the RSS men tipped off the police about the alleged drunk driving by a DYFI activist.
