Panel to ensure justice for Nileena Chandran
The committee members will meet former Karnataka chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa late on Monday night.
KOZHIKODE: The friends and relatives of Nileena Chandran, who died in a hospital in Bangalore after an accident on her Tumkur campus, formed an action committee on Sunday demanding a comprehensive probe. Nileena (25), daughter of teacher couple K.K. Chandran and C.A. Anitha from Perambra, died on April 14, after an accident in her Sri Siddhartha Dental College, Tumkur, on March 23.
Though a case was registered against the owner of the bike that hit her scooter, the committee members say he was not the one who rode the bike at the time of the accident. Mullappally Ramachandran MP and K. Kunhammed Master MLA are patrons of the committee and district panchayat president Babu Parassery its chair.
Its members will meet former Karnataka chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa later on Monday night. They will also visit Tumkur soon to take authentic details of the incidents that led to the death of Nileena, who was an MDS student there.
