Kerala Police Academy offers law & order courses
To teach cyber tech, criminology, police sciences, forensic science and medicine.
Thrissur: Kerala Police Academy at Ramavarmapuram here has come up with an internship programme for 20 college students in cyber technology, criminology, police sciences, forensic science and medicine and law.
The aim of the academy is to create more awareness on the police activities and to impart knowledge and orientation in various subjects which in turn would help them to be proactive in matters related to policing and law and order, Academy director K. Padmakumar said.
“The timing of the classes will be from 10 am to 5 pm, and the students can make use of it as an internship programme and attend the course a part of their academic project,” a source said.
It would be a continuous programme throughout the year, and those interested can download the form from the website of the academy from Friday and mail it to the director or send it by post.
Students of under-graduation and post-graduation in the second year or final year can enrol. They should have secured 50 percent of marks or equivalent in the previous examination.
The interns will be assigned responsibility relating to the study, research in their proposed area of internship. On successful completion of the programme, the students will be awarded a certificate signed by the director of the academy.
Both boys and girls can enrol. The first batch commenced on 15 May.
