Hyderabad: Schools, varsities told to raise environ awareness

Hyderabad: CBSE and UGC have released notifications well in advance of the World Earth Day on June 5 to ensure that schools and universities ensure enough awareness is raised amongst students about methods to preserve the environment. 

Colleges and schools have been asked to conduct waste audits to devise methods that can decrease the amount of waste generated. 

A very important suggestion that has been forth is banning plastic, polythene and other harmful products in campuses as well as canteens. Involvement of NCC, NSS, eco-clubs and students have been sought.
