Political reactions on GO 111 cancellation
HYDERABAD: CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka has said the cancellation of GO 111 was done by the state government to help the CM’s family which is in possession of “thousands of acres of land” in the area.
“The entire area will be turned into real estate ventures and sold to multinational companies to bag commissions,” he said.
Bhatti said, “This is illegal and against the Supreme Court guidelines. The existing natural water bodies like the Himayat Sagar and Osman Sagar lakes should not be disturbed. The alternative water sources KCR is referring to are the lift irrigation projects.”
“The CM had spoken of an action plan to save the water bodies even after lifting the GO. Nothing has been done in that direction,” he noted.
Congress leader Addanki Dayakar said, “The government has an eye on one lakh acres of real estate. The original owners of those lands are no longer present and the lands have changed hands. The inner ring road, outer ring road and Dharani portal are all part of an exercise to grab land.”
“All politicians have lands in the area so there is pressure to lift GO 111 restrictions,” he said.
BJP leader NVSS Prabhakar said, “The GO has been cancelled to protect, among other things, KTR’s own farmhouse that is facing legal issues in the Supreme Court. How will the government protect the catchment areas of the lakes after the cancellation of the GO? This is done to help the real estate sector.“
