I-T raids aimed at damaging my reputation: BRS MLA Pailla Shekar Reddy

HYDERABAD: BRS Bhongir MLA Pailla Shekar Reddy, who faced I-T raids for three days on his residences and offices in Hyderabad and other locations, alleged that they were conducted to damage his reputation and clean image at a time when Assembly elections were nearing.

Shekar Reddy arrived in his constituency for the first time on Sunday after the I-T raids and was warmly received by local BRS leaders and workers.

Speaking to media persons in Bhongir, he said: "Several reports appeared in the media during I-T searches for three days. Some reports suggested that I-T sleuths seized key documents from my house and from the houses of my relatives. Some reports suggested that I am doing mining business in South Africa. There is no truth in these reports," Reddy claimed.

He said the I-T officials had completed their searches on the first day but dragged the exercise for three days to damage his reputation. He claimed that I-T officials found nothing against him.
