Hyderabad: SHE teams book 65 cases in 15 days
According to the complaint, the woman took a cab and paid Rs 200 as per the fare given on the app but the driver charged her Rs 800.
Hyderabad: SHE teams have received as many as 65 complaints in 15 days of which 45 cases were booked, including 15 criminal cases.
In one of the cases, a woman sent a petition through WhatsApp, stating that a cab driver holding a grudge against her, wrote her number in a public toilet. She started receiving calls and abusive messages from random people. She approached the SHE team and a case was registered against the driver.
According to the complaint, the woman took a cab and paid Rs 200 as per the fare given on the app but the driver charged her Rs 800.
In an another complaint on July 1, the SHE teams received a complaint from a person alleging that his minor daughter was harassed by a person.
He stated that the man used to call her and send vulgar and abusive messages.
When her uncle requested the accused to stop harassing her, he beat him with a pestle on his head. Based on the complaint lodged by the minor’s father, a case has been registered under Protection of Children against Sexual Offence Act 2012, (POCSO) and the accused was sent to judicial custody.
