7 arrested for selling virus drugs illegally
The accused persons along with seized material were handed over to the Asifnagar police for investigation
The West Zone Task Force arrested seven people for alleged black marketing Covid-19 drugs.
The accused were identified as Mohd Obaid, Mohd Afaq Ali, Mohd Majid Ali, Abdul Aziz, B. Raju, N. Sunil and M. Ravi.
The police arrested them for procuring generic versions of Remdesivir and Cipremi Injections that are being used to treat Covid-19 patients, and selling them at higher rates.
All the accused were illegally selling the Remdesivir injections in their medical shops at high prices without any medical prescription and bills, police said.
Acting on a tip off, the police arrested them when they were discussing selling of Remdesivir (Covifor) of Hetero and Cipremi of Cipla. The police seized the injections from their possession.
