Fisheries corporation chairman Bandana Hari passes away

KAKINADA: The Andhra Pradesh Agnikula Kshatriya Corporation chairman and Kakinada Port steel barge owners association president Bandana Hari (64) passed away at a private hospital on Friday after prolonged illness. He is survived by wife, two sons and three daughters.

He had contested the Kakinada urban constituency poll on behalf of the Praja Rajyam Party of actor Chiranjeevi in the 2019 elections but was defeated by YSRC candidate Dwarampudi Chandrasekhara.

After the merger of Praja Rajyam in the Congress, Hari joined the YSRC. At the initiative of Chandrasekhara Reddy, Bandana Hari was appointed as chairman of Agnikula Kshatriya Corporation. He had a strong hold over the fishermen community.

His last rites were performed at a burial ground in Turangi in Kakinada rural mandal. His followers paid him their homage.

Kakinada MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhara, LS member Vanga Githa, MLA Kurasala Kannababu, former Mayor Siva Prasanna, Kakinada urban development authority chairman Chandrakala Deepthi, rice millers association president Dwarampudi Veerabhadra and others expressed their condolences to the bereaved family.

Former Union minister Pallam Raju, HMS president Sathibabu, fishing boat owners association president Vanamadi Veerababu and others paid tributes to the departed leader.
