Vexed Cantt. residents to knock on Defence Minister's doors
Hyderabad: In a bid to draw attention to the deteriorating condition of roads in the cantonment, residents are gearing up to approach defence minister Rajnath Singh. The roads in question, stretching from Ammuguda Bridge to RK Puram's Robert Road, have remained unrepaired for over 15 years.
Approximately 10,000 residents from Shaktinagar and Vani cooperative colonies, Asha Officers Colony, Gandhinagar, old and new Officers Colony,
" The roads, connecting vital areas such as ECIL, AS Raonagar, Sainikpuri Colony, Defence Colony, Vivekanandapuram Colony, remain in an appalling state. Despite our consistent efforts to engage with local authorities and elected representatives, our pleas have fallen on deaf ears for 15 years," said Ullas Rao, a resident.
He added the residents had petitioned SCB CEO Madhukar Naik, and Union ministers Prahlad Joshi, G. Kishan Reddy, and BJP leader Muralidhar Rao. As the road in question falls under the jurisdiction of the SCB, the vexed residents believe that Rajnath Singh’s intervention could bring relief.
A resident, Mahesh Pullela tol,d Deccan Chronicle, "We have left no stone unturned in seeking attention for this issue. The condition of these roads not only hampers our daily lives but also tarnishes the celebratory spirit of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav."
