Widows to get age relaxation in PSU sector: PInarayi Vijayan

Differently-abled government staff having more than two years service would be rounded up to three years so as to give them minimum pension.

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister PInarayi Vijayan said that widows would be given five years upper age limit relaxation in PSC appointments.  Mr Vijayan said while replying to a submission by R. Rajesh of the CPM in the assembly on Tuesday demanding reservation for widows in government service, said that the present law did not permit such a reservation.

Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac informed K.M. Shaji of the Muslim League that differently-abled government employees having more than two years service would be rounded up to three years so that they would get minimum pension. Education Minister C Raveendranath said that the treasury had not been accepted as an authorised agency of the income tax department.  Mr Raveendranath said that details needed for the IT department could be uploaded after paying fixed fees through authorised TIN facilitation centres.
