HC suspends NBW, LOC issued by Hyd police chief
The matrimonial criminal proceeding was lodged against him in 2019
Hyderabad: Justice Vijaysen Reddy of the Telangana High Court on Wednesday suspended a non-bailable warrant (NBW) and a look out circular (LOC) issued by the Hyderabad police commissioner for two months. The judge was dealing with a writ petition filed by Shaik Abdul Nazeer, challenging the notice issued by the police commissioner for impounding his passport and issuing a NBW in a matrimonial criminal proceeding.
The matrimonial criminal proceeding was lodged against him in 2019 and the magistrate court at Hyderabad had directed his personal appearance amid the Covid-19 outbreak. The petitioner said he was in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, at that time and unable to return to India, and his passport subsequently expired.
Petitioner’s counsel said Nazeer would abide by the court orders and appear before the magistrate. Suspending the NBW and LOC temporarily, the court directed Nazeer to apply for renewal of passport and to appear before the trial court and adjourned the hearing to December 29.
