The TRS finds the demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes to check black money good, but the manner in which it has been implemented, bad.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Cabinet has recommended to the Governor to convene a special session of the Assembly on November 22 to discuss the impact of demonetization on the state cooperative sector. This was decided at a special Cabinet meeting on Friday. According to sources, there will be no normal proceedings during the one day session. A resolution urging the Centre to address the issues pertaining to the cooperative sector following demonetisation might be passed by the House.

If BJP's lone legislator O. Rajagopal is present in the House, there is little chance for passing the resolution unanimously as the BJP is opposed to the LDF's and UDF's views on the matter. Meanwhile, the special Cabinet also asked cooperation minister A.C. Moideen to take steps to ensure smooth functioning of the cooperative sector by considering the suggestions from various quarters, including the UDF.
