Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court bench of Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice N.V. Sravan Kumar dismissed a writ petition filed by Kundarapu Srikanth, independent candidate from Miryaguda with regard to his nomination papers.

Rapolu Bhaskar, counsel, representing the petitioner, said that Srikanth had filed his papers on November 10 and deposited the fee of Rs.10,000 with the returning officer. The returning officer neither accepted nor rejected his nomination.

The Chief Justice bench took into consideration the contention of Avinash Desai, senior counsel, appearing for the Election Commission of India, that the petitioner had not filed his papers. The ECI also filed an affidavit which stated that the CCTV camera footage showed that the petitioner had not turned up.
