Thiruvananthapuram: The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau  on Thursday submitted a report to the Vigilance Court here on the complaints against  chief secretary S.M. Vijayanand in connection with the IAS officers’ strike.  It had been alleged that  he was holding back the files on the cases related to IAS officers. The court was not satisfied with  the report as it did  not deal with the chief secretary’s delay  in taking decisions on the cases related to IAS officers. The case was  posted to  January 24.

The petition sought to register a case against the chief secretary over the IAS officers’ decision  to take mass leave in protest against registering a Vigilance case against industries secretary Paul Antony. The court had earlier sought a report on the  complaint that  Mr Vijayanand had delayed the decision for a Vigilance probe against  jail ADGP R. Sreelekha. The probe against Ms Sreelekha was over the allegations, including  illegal utilisation of road safety fund, financial irregularities in office functioning, violation of rules in foreign trips and misuse of official vehicle while she served as the transport commissioner. The probe  was recommended  by former transport commissioner Tomin Thachankary.
