Kerala: Medical colleges must list student names
MCI fiat to use website for transparency.
Thiruvananthapuram: Medical Council of India (MCI) has issued an order asking medical college authorities to place a complete list of admitted students on the college website to bring more transparency and accountability. This list should stay on there until all students have passed final MBBS and obtained registration with State Medical Council, it said. The changes to the list if any, given the decision by regulatory bodies, should be incorporated whenever direction to do so is received, and updated list should be made available.
A link labelled as 'Admissions' should be placed on the menu bar of the home page, directing the visitor, with a table detailing year-wise list of students admitted to MBBS, MD, MS, diploma and super speciality courses. The medical colleges are also supposed to put all the information on permission or recognition for various courses on the website and update on a regular basis. Information in the form of documentary evidence regarding approval and recognition by the Union government should be uploaded with a link labelled government approvals on the menu bar with a table detailing the letter of permission or recognition of MBBS, MD, MS diploma and super speciality.
