Kopparthi will be AP's model industrial park: Kadapa collector

KADAPA: District collector Chevuru Harikiran has directed authorities concerned to expedite establishment of infrastructure for setting up industrial estates in Kadapa district within the stipulated time.

Harikiran, along with AP Industries Development advisor Rajolu Virareddy, inspected the Kopparthi Industrial Hub on Saturday as part of reviewing infrastructure for developing industrial zones in the district.

Thereafter, the collector said Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is paying special attention to development of industries in Kadapa district. In this regard, the CM wants to make Kopparthi Industrial Estate a model industrial park in the state.

As part of this, Harikiran said steps are being undertaken to set up "YSR Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC)" in Kopparthi Industrial Estate. The state government has also issued a G. O. approving 5,098 acres of land for developing industries, Harikiran pointed out.

He disclosed that many reputed companies are keen on setting up industries in Kopparthi Industrial Estate. These include Dixon Technologies, Neel Kamal and Pitti.

The collector further said steps are being undertaken for construction of a six-lane road from the Kopparthi estate to the main road 2.5 km away. Beautiful arches with attractive facades will be developed at the entrance from the main road, he stated.

Others involved in the review meeting include joint collector Dharma Chandra Reddy, APIIC zonal manager Jayalakshmi, deputy zonal manager E. E. Srinivasa Murthy, and District Industries Department’s G. M. Chand Basha.
