CM Oommen Chandy opens poll office

The first phase of campaigning was completed after the conventions in Malappuram.

KOZHIKODE: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy inaugurated the election central committee office of Kozhikode North UDF candidate P.M. Suresh Babu on Tuesday. Addressing a meeting at Karaparamba on the occasion,  he said that each vote for the front would be an evaluation of his government’s performance  in the last five years. 

“The UDF is facing the polls on the basis of the developmental activities executed in the state,” he said. “The crowd at each election convention will ensure  the victory of the UDF. We expect Suresh Babu to win with a big majority.

The current scenario is favourable  for the UDF,” Mr Chandy said. He received a request from Mananchira-Vellimadukunnu road action committee to intervene in the works allegedly held back by the district administration.

Shivani, a student of the lower primary school on the campus of the Teachers Training Institute,  who had approached the Chief Minister  on March 3 to help construct a house for her homeless schoolmate Amal Krishna, thanked him for his assistance.

The girl had gained attention after she called out the Chief Minister’s name, who had come to attend a function at the TTI,  and expained the plight of her friend. The first phase of campaigning was completed after the conventions in Malappuram held on Tuesday.  Mr M.K. Raghavan MP also was present.
