MBBS admission counselling begins today
DME said that they had received 26,017 applications for MBBS admission, of which 25,379 were found eligible.
Chennai: Following the Directorate of Medical Education’s (DME) announcement that they had received 26,017 applications for MBBS admission, of which 25,379 were found eligible, students had started preparing themselves for the counseling that is to begin on Monday.
The DME stated in its announcement that under the state quota, 2,253 seats are allotted to Government Medical Colleges, 470 for self financing medical colleges and 130 for ESIC medical college. It also said that 85 seats are allotted to Government dental colleges and 970 for self financing dental colleges.
Preparations are on to cater to the needs of the students who will be attending the counseling sessions that are to take place till Sunday. “The first session will begin at 9 am on Monday,” said Dr G. Selvarajan, secretary, selection committee.
