Odisha Train Tragedy: CBI Seals Signal JE's Residence At Balasore

In a major move, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sealed the hosue of Soro section signal junior engineer's house at Balasore in connection with the Odisha triple train tragedy.

The engineer, Amir Khan, who lived in a rented house in Balasore, was questioned by the probe agency but now, he has gone missing along with his family.

Earlier, the CBI questioned the engineer at an undisclosed location. After visiting his house on June 16, the CBI team came back to his house on Monday and sealed the engineer's residence, after finding it locked.

Reportedly, Amir Khan and his family members have been missing ever since the train tragedy occurred near the Bahanga railway station on June 2. As many as 291 people died and over 900 others were injured in the accident.

The CBI began investigation into the Balasore train accident on  June 6. Following allegations of tampering with the electronic interlocking system following the accident, the CBI launched the probe.
