KURNOOL: The residents of Pedda Anantaram in Atmakur mandal are living in fear as a tiger was spotted in the area and killed two cows. The tigers are venturing out of the forest in search of food and water due to the sweltering heat conditions. On Sunday evening, a tiger attacked a herd of cattle returning from the grazing lands, resulting in the death of two cows.

The cattle-rearing people who witnessed the incident cried for help, and the tiger finally left the area. The villagers say that tigers and other wild animals are increasingly coming out of the dense forest in search of sustenance due to extreme heat conditions. Sometimes, these animals attack cattle, further aggravating the fear and apprehension among the villagers.

The local people have appealed to the forest officials to provide adequate security measures to protect them from these wild animals. A tiger sighting near the Sakshi Ganapathi Temple in Srisailam recently raised concerns among devotees and the local people.
