The LDF meeting held preliminary discussions on the issue of allotting boards and corporations.
Thiruvananthapuram: The ruling LDF on Tuesday cautioned the state government against needless controversies which were creating confusion in the minds of people. The LDF state committee meeting which was held at the AKG Centre here, reviewed the political situation and the developments connected with the government. Most leaders who took part in the meeting opined that the government should stay away from controversies.
The LDF leadership felt that controversies were diverting the attention from the good works being done by the government. Meanwhile, the LDF meeting held preliminary discussions on the issue of allotting boards and corporations. It decided to hold bilateral discussions among allies on the issue of appointing chairmen of boards and corporations. The bilateral meetings will begin from Wednesday.
While the M K Damodaran issue didn’t come up for discussions at the meeting, the leaders were unanimous in their opinion about avoiding pointless controversies. The CPI had earlier decided to raise the issue of Damodaran appearing in cases against the state government at the meeting on Tuesday. However, following Damodaran’s decision to quit the post, the matter was not deliberated.
