Dawood Ibrahim's nephew is niece' for Indian agencies

Mumbai: Alishah Parkar’s marriage this week became a national news. The reason — he was the nephew of India’s most wanted fugitive don Dawood Ibrahim. Ironically, the last dossier on Dawood, that India shared with Pakistan, mentions Alishah as Dawood’s ‘niece’.
The dossier was prepared on the basis of the inputs received from elite Indian security agencies such as RAW, Intelligence Bureau etc. Alishah, the son of Dawood’s late sister Haseena Parkar, married Ayesha Nagani at a Nagpada mosque on Wednesday. The Mumbai police and intelligence sleuths kept a close watch on the ceremony following reports of either Dawood himself attending the marriage via Skype or D-gang members showing up.
“It was only when the news about Alishah’s wedding in Mumbai broke out, that the error in the dossier, prepared on Dawood’s activities and Pakistan-based hideouts, got detected. The dossier mentions Alishah as a ‘niece’ of Dawood not the ‘nephew’,” said a source in the central intelligence agency.
The dossier, a copy of which is with The Asian Age, erroneously mentions Alishah as one of the two daughters of Haseena Parker. India had shared the dossier with Pakistan in August last year and had demanded Dawood’s arrest and deportation.
The dossier contains information on Dawood’s family members, his 15 passports, multiple residential addresses and network of aides in Pakistan. It also has information how Dawood ran a “syndicate” aiming to “destabilise the Indian government through riots and terrorism.”
According to a police source, “It is surprising how the error was committed in the dossier. It contained vital inputs based on information by intelligence sources. It is expected from the dossier’s compliers to cross–check the information before placing it on record.”
Dawood, against who an Interpol Red Corner Notice was issued for his alleged role as the mastermind of 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, was until recently suspected to be in Karachi.
