Blast at scrap warehouse in Bholakpur: Man suffers burns

Hyderabad: A 34-year-old scrap dealer received third-degree burns when a tin containing chemicals exploded in his warehouse at Bholakpur on Saturday. The victim, Mohd Sirajul Haq, was rushed to Gandhi Hospital and is said to be in a critical condition. His warehouse was also completely gutted as the explosion sparked a fire.

Musheerabad SHO E. Jahangeer Yadav said prima facie, a burns case has been registered. The CLUES team also visited the site of the mishap and collected samples. Based on their reports and other evidence, the probe will continue, he said.

Haq, a native of Uttar Pradesh, has been operating the scrap warehouse for the past three years. On Saturday, while segregating scrap, he tried to open the tin, which caused an explosion.
