K E Ismail raises dual post issue at CPI meet
The meeting reviewed the political situation in the state and the decisions taken by the LDF Government in the recent days.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPI state executive on Monday decided to finalise its nominees for various boards and corporations by October 4. The meeting decided to complete the bilateral talks with other constituents of the front to reach an understanding on the boards and corporations. The meeting reviewed the political situation in the state and the decisions taken by the LDF Government in the recent days. The leadership also discussed the fallout of Soumya murder case verdict and hoped the government would take all steps to ensure severe punishment for the accused Govindachamy.
Meanwhile, the dual post issue which was raised by senior K E Ismail in the last executive meeting, came up for discussions at the meet on Monday. He had referred to top leaders holding dual positions like Kanam Rajendran who party state secretary, continuing to remain the AITUC president also. The state secretary is understood to have informed the meeting that appropriate decision would be taken at the right time. Meanwhile, the LDF state committee meeting on Tuesday will discuss a host of issues including liquor policy, Soumya case verdict, heads of boards and corporations besides government’s performance.
