Kochi: The Justice V R Krishna Iyer Movement has asked the District Collector K Muhammed Y Safirulla who is the special officer of the Cochin Cancer Research Centre (CCRC) to invite people’s representatives to CCRC on the occasion of its first anniversary on November 1 and convent it to an occasion for the uplift of the centre.  “The only contribution from a people’s representative has come from Kalamassery MLA and former Minister V K Ebrahim Kunju who has pledged Rs 34 lakh to buy equipment for early cervical cancer detection and treatment,”.

The other MLAs and MPs in the Central Kerala region have a responsibility to contribute to the growth of CCRC as people from the entire region are benefited by the centre.  So the Special Officer should take the initiative to bring them on the day of anniversary to the centre and ensure their financial aid for the development of the centre,” said Dr N K Sanil Kumar, volunteer of the movement, in a message sent to Mr Safirulla on Tuesday.
