Commissionerate of inquires to take up 719 pending cases of staff
Vijayawada: Agriculture Minister Govardhan Reddy said in the state assembly on Monday that the commissionerate of inquiries will take up the probe into 719 cases of state government employees about disciplinary proceedings, in three months as advised by the court.
The minister moved the Andhra Pradesh Civil Services (Disciplinary Proceedings Tribunal) (Repeal) Bill, 2022 in the council on behalf of chief minister Jagan Reddy. The bill was passed after a brief discussion.
The minister said that as the AP Civil Services Tribunal was abolished with the passage of the bill in the legislature, the state government would entrust the task of inquiry to the commissioner of inquiries having the same authority and jurisdiction and recommend disciplinary proceedings against the erring employees in three months’ time, as was sought by the AP High Court in a recent order.
Deputy chief minister dealing with panchayat raj and rural development, Muthyala Naidu, assured the council that district collectors and senior officials from erstwhile districts would be asked to attend the Zilla Parishad meetings without fail. This follows complaints from the MLCs from PDF that that the collectors and senior officials were not attending the meeting and hence there was no resolution of the pending problems.
The DyCM announced this while moving the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj (Amendment) Bill, 2022, which was later passed.
The council passed two more bills including the Andhra Pradesh Road Development Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2022 moved by the minister for roads and buildings Dadisetti Raja and the Andhra Pradesh (Agriculture Produce and Livestock) Markets (Amendment) Bill, 2022 moved by minister for agriculture Govardhan Reddy.
