Bar body to abstain from court work today
HYDERABAD: The Telangana High Court advocates who have been protesting over the proposed transfer of Justice Annireddy Abhishek Reddy to the Patna High Court, have decided to abstain from court work on Monday too. They have been abstaining from work since Friday.
Meanwhile, they will meet Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud on Monday to discuss the resolution regarding the transfer of Justice Abhishek Reddy.
“The abstaining from work in the High Court would continue on Monday, further developments will be informed to the members after meeting with the CJI. We appeal to the members of the bar to cooperate in abstaining work on Monday to make our protest successful,” the Telangana High Court Advocates' Association (THCAA) said on Sunday.
However, Ponnam Ashok Goud, former president THCAA, said they were opposing the abstaining from work and will attend the courts.
