THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Vigilance special court here has ordered the government to submit files pertaining to posting of Shanker Reddy as Vigilance director by previous UDF government without fail by Wednesday. The court also warned of initiating legal actions in case of further failure in producing the files. The enquiry commissioner and special court (vigilance) had earlier directed the home secretary to produce the files pertaining to Shanker Reddy's posting on Monday.

However, the Vigilance counsel informed the court on Monday that the files could not be produced as the copy of the court order was not yet received by the government. Subsequently, the court ordered that unless the home secretary produce the files by Wednesday, legal actions would be initiated. Activist Painchira Navaz filed the petition alleging t4hat the previous UDF government posted Mr. Reddy as Vigilance director even when he was holding the rank of Additional DGP and it was part of a conspiracy to protect UDF leaders and senior bureaucrats from a case pertaining to irregularities in Kannur airport work.
