Odiya actor Babushaan gets challan
Taking suo motu cognisance of the incident, the commissionerate of police issued a challan of Rs 1,000 against Babushaan.
Bhubaneshwar: Ollywood superstar Tanmay Mohanty, popularly known as Babushaan, was on Wednesday night slapped a penalty through e-challan for flouting traffic norms.
Mohanty was reportedly riding a motorcycle near Kalinga Nagar area of the capital city without wearing a helmet, a video of which has been shot by a commuter and made viral on social media platforms.
Taking suo motu cognisance of the incident, the commissionerate of police issued a challan of Rs 1,000 against Babushaan under the amended Motor Vehicles Act and later took to Twitter to mention, “We adore our actors. But, when Tanmay, better known as Babushan, was found to be riding a bike without a helmet, a challan was issued. That’s our duty. Do follow traffic safety norms always.”
Responding to reports of being penalised for violating traffic norms, Babushaan said, “I was riding outside our compound gate and did not go near any traffic junction or National Highway. I will be more careful in future.”
