Udhhav Thackeray said, \"The birth anniversary of Bala Saheb falls on Janurary 23 but since the consecration ceremony of the Ayodhya Ram Temple is going to be held on January 22, the Shiv Sena will perform a 'Maha Aarti' on that day at the bank of the Godavari River in Nasik.\" PTI

Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) on Wednesday slammed the BJP-led central government over the suspension of opposition MPs from the Parliament. The Uddhav Thackeray-led party said that the suspension of MPs is the final stage of dictatorship in the country.

An editorial published in Shiv Sena (UBT) mouthpiece Saamana on Wednesday said that the opposition parties are demanding answers. “They (opposition parties) are doing their duties in the House. It is a duty of the government to put forth the facts before the country and answer all the questions which were raised in connection with the smoke attack. But the crooked central government is running away from its duty and is preventing the opposition MPs from performing their duties by suspending them. Their voices are being muzzled,” the editorial said.

The Opposition parties including Sharad Pawar-led NCP and Thackeray-led Shiv Sena UBT were demanding a statement from Union home minister Amit Shah on the December 13 Parliament security breach. So far the government has suspended 143 MPs for unruly conduct in the Houses.

The Sena (UBT) also asked when would the remaining Opposition MPs will be suspended by the government. “There will be no questions asked in the remaining period of the session. The government will not need to give any answers,” the editorial sarcastically said.

Reminding the BJP leadership about the possible change of regime in the general election, the Sena (UBT) said that in 2024, the people will overthrow BJP’s tyrannical rule and again restore democracy in the country.
